Sacred Wind Communications

There is Something About Us………. Sacred Wind Communications is a privately owned, New Mexico-based company, dedicated to improve telecommunications services to rural areas within New Mexico. We have purchased from Qwest Corporation its local telephone facilities serving portions of Navajo lands and nearby Navajo lands in the northwestern, Four Corners, and Canoncito areas of the state. Focused mainly on introducing basic telephone services to the many thousands of unserved homes on Navajo lands, Sacred Wind also has the intent and mission of providing the most advanced services, including high speed Internet services, to Navajo, non-Navajo residents, governmental entities, and businesses in our territory. Having received all necessary New Mexico and FCC authorizations for the acquisition and transfer in this part of the state, finally opened up for business on December 16, 2006. Through this transition from Qwest, Sacred Wind offers the same rates for services as Qwest does today. As we install our new network using the $70 Million loan we received for new systems construction, we will be able to offer our customers our own new signature services in the near future. Sacred Wind will also be building a state-of-the art telecom network and is expected to have the foundation completed by 3rd Quarter 2008, at which time more advanced services will be available to our customers. Additionally, for our low income Tribal customers, we will continue to be proactive in promoting the state's and the FCC's Tribal Lifeline program which guarantees eligible families to receive the lowest rates available anywhere. Investment in new network facilities and more advanced technology is slow to arrive in this area of the state. Sacred Wind is a locally based phone company with a mission: to serve the unserved and underserved in New Mexico. Our company, thanks to our small company status and outside-the-box orientation when it comes to selecting the appropriate technologies to serve our customers, can actually deliver more to our customers than our out-of-state counterparts. In serving and working with our Navajo customers, we have noted that too often technological changes generate cultural changes. Sacred Wind will support the culture of the Navajo Nation by facilitating communications between our Navajo customers and the rest of America. Our operations and form of customer interface will reinforce the values important to our Navajo customers. We will serve our customers with the greatest care and support, as we are about the strongest management team you can find in the telecom world, with over 180 years of telecom network and administrative experience among our core team. Our recruitment and interview process is rigorous -- we will hire only the best. In a nutshell, we are a small company with a Fortune 500 background and caliber. Finally, you may be asking, “why Sacred Wind,” when we could have called ourselves the Four Corners Communications Company, the Western Telephone Company, or any number of mundane names, but our primary drive to introduce telecom services to the thousands of isolated Navajo families compels us to address ourselves in a way that will constantly remind us of our first mission. The Sacred Winds bring the breath of life to mankind and are the conduit for communicating.
