OVERVIEW
We like old movies, a spring rain, and chocolate in all of its varieties. We really dig on a good tune and...we adore those brightly colored wild flowers that grow on the side of the interstate. We are super buff, or slightly soft. Not to mention single, divorced, married, widowed, or, um...looking.
We are engineers, farmers, bankers, delivery folks, factory workers, teachers and programmers. We cry, but we also laugh—a lot, we ponder, get serious, at times border on being really silly, and we veg-out (professionally). Who are we? Believe it or not, we are a church, RiverTown Church. Even with all that diversity you still might think someone would be left out of the mix. But that’s not the case.
About 2,000 years ago Jesus came into the picture and was a little disappointed with the ideas and attitudes of the religious people. The idea that putting on a good front was more important than a relationship with God; the idea that maintaining laws and rules were more important than trusting in God for guidance; the attitude that church wasn’t for everyone—just a select few. Jesus saw things differently. He enjoyed people. He got to know them, and in spite of their many flaws, He still loved them, healed them, died for them. Some things never change. So you see, we’re trying to be the church that He promoted, something more than rules and regulations. At our core, we’re about relationships. A relationship with God, and relationships with people, everyday people, like you.
So why don’t you give RiverTown a shot? Friendship, support, laughter, and the possibility of light refreshments. Can’t beat that. Drop by, check out a service, shoot us an email or give us a call. We’d love to hear from you
